Trump's ploy might be too successful this time around.

He is a master manipulator and knows this "send them back" will fire up his base and puts the Squad at the forefront of the Dem party. However, at end of the day, it is the middle 10 to 20%'s voters that determines presidency. As someone who is a left leaning inde, while it is unlikely I would ever vote for Trump in 2020, but could vote for 3rd party if Dem puts up someone unpalatable to me. However, I found this "send her back" chant at his rally disturbing and disgusting, and now probably will vote straight Dem in next national election no matter what now. I wouldn't be surprised as this "send them back" chant gain more momentum, it'll turn away a lot of the middle voters.
